Ep. 16 Recap – Mike Hudock

Swim, bike, run!  That about sums up the lifestyle of Mike Hudock, an elite triathlete who makes time to work out twice each day in between medical school classes and studies.  Having begun his triathlete journey six years ago as a freshman in college, Mike has remained disciplined in his training regimen throughout and has barely missed a week, let alone a day in that time frame.

Mike and I had an open conversation about mental health and the many benefits that exercise plays in relieving stress and anxiety.  It is unfathomable to us how anyone can choose to not exercise, especially since we have both achieved so many mental, emotional and physical rewards from it.  So many people find the excuse that they do not have the time to workout.  That’s an illegitimate excuse.

You must make the time if you want something.  Then, in turn, you’ll have the time.

If you are interested in learning more about physical fitness with an emphasis on running, in general, then I suggest you go check out Ep. 16.  I look forward to Mike’s continued ascent in the triathlete and running world.  His next major event will be the Athens Half Marathon in Athens, Ohio, on Sunday, April 15th.  Good luck, Mike!

Ep. 15 Recap – Dr. Adam Hedaya

Dr. Adam Hedaya is a Double Board Certified physician specializing in pain management.  His anti-opioid prescribing approach struck me as an approach that many other doctors should begin taking.  With all of the opioid addiction issues in this country – many of which lead to heroin use – the medical profession as a whole has some serious changes it must make when it comes to the prescribing of medications.  Doctors must be cognizant of the devastating affects these drugs have on their patients and should seek to avoid opioid prescriptions wherever possible so that the risk of heroin use and abuse is mitigated.  Undoubtedly, lives will be saved.

Check out Dr. Hedaya at Cleveland Pain Care if you are in need of a pain management specialist to help you achieve a more comfortable, enjoyable lifestyle.

Ep. 20 – Dr. M. Kara, M.D., anti-aging expert specializing in hormone replacement therapy

Ep. 11 Recap – Kelli Carson

Beautiful, smart, compassionate, insightful :: just a few of many adjectives that can be used to describe Kelli Carson.  A woman who always knew creating a career for herself would be important, Kelli was able to marry that entrepreneurial drive with her immense passion for helping people.  And these are not just any people.  These are people struck by severe diseases/disabilities such as autism.  People who are “non-verbal” and do not have the ability to care for themselves.

As All Hearts Home Health Care approaches its 13th anniversary, I was honored to have Kelli on the show to discuss her professional path.  It is extremely impressive to see her now employing approximately 100 people who care for anywhere between 50-60 clients throughout various counties in Northern Ohio.  As her reach continues to spread and her company continues to grow, we will undoubtedly see Kelli having an even greater impact throughout our community.  Her pending children’s facility – due to open May of this year – is just one example of likely many more to come.

What I really love about sitting down with my guests is the ability to pick their brains and find out what makes them tick.  Each person has a unique perspective of the world and they all bring their own flare to the game.  While Kelli’s passion remains in health care, she is always on the look out for new business ventures outside of the medical industry.  It is that type of entrepreneurial spirit that keeps the wheels of our economy in motion.  And while the future is unquestionably bright for Kelli, the future for her clients and patients remains even brighter so long as she and her company(ies) are involved.

Ep. 11 – Kelli Carson, home health care owner and entrepreneur

Kelli Carson is the founder of All Hearts Home Health Care, a home health care service provider to people with mental and physical disabilities.

In this episode, we hear about how Kelli’s entrepreneurial journey began at the ripe age of ten.  We hear about her path from sales to real estate, and how she knew she needed more emotional fulfillment from her career.  We hear about how she ultimately found that fulfillment by combining her passion for helping people with her passion for growing a business.  We get insight into the emotional tolls that the home health care industry can take on the providers and hear about some of the challenges these remarkable people face every day.  We end with a discussion on Kelli’s plans for the future, her love for her clients and employees, and other business ventures that are of interest to her.
