It’s Friday. A day of great anticipation for the majority of Americans. It’s a day that we yearn for almost every other day of the week and, now, it is finally here! So what are you going to do about it? How are you going to bless it? How are you going to make it count? Make it special? Make it memorable? Simply put, how are you going to own it?!
Keep these thoughts at the forefront today, tonight and throughout your weekend. When you start complaining about the weather, the food, the kids, the laundry, the gym crowd, the dinner plans you now wish you never made, the neighbors’ loud dog, the sourpuss at the dry cleaners, the rude customer service representative, and a million other things that you can bitch about… then stop and pause and remind yourself that you have been praying for the weekend to come since last weekend ended. And with that comes the responsibility to make the weekend positive. Energetic. Enjoyable. Thrilling. Riveting. You catch my drift?
Life is about taking ownership of each and every day. Making good days great, great days epic, and finding the silver linings within the days we consider bad or mundane. So this weekend – when the rain is pouring, the party is underwhelming, and the beer served is Miller High Life instead of Stella Artois – remind yourself that you’re grateful to be alive; that you’re appreciative of the company; and that you’re going to make the day one to remember so that those who didn’t do the same will be jealous of your ownership.
